CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – – Virginia sophomore wrestler Eric Albright and redshirt sophomore Rocco Caponi are ranked in the top 20 of this week’s InterMat/NWCA/NWMA Division I Individual Wrestling Rankings. Albright is ranked No. 13 at 133 pounds while Caponi is ranked No. 15 at 184 pounds.

Albright is off to a 12-3 start after going 3-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite. He defeated No. 19 Lou Ruggirello from Hofstra, 5-4. No. 9 Mark Budd of Buffalo squeezed out a 3-2 decision over Albright and No. 11 Mike Rowe of Nebraska held on for a 4-1 decision over the Virginia sophomore.

Caponi sits at 7-4 on the season after finishing eighth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite. He went 3-3 at the tournament with wins over Oregon State’s Kyle Bressler, Stanford’s Zack Giesen and Cal State Fullerton’s Ian Murphy.. He dropped decisions to No. 9 Marc Bennett of Indiana and No. 6 Raymond of Jordan of Missouri, who is the No. 1 in the nation. Penn’s Lior Zamir, who is ranked 13th held on to defeat Caponi 6-2 to take seventh place.
