GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia senior Brenna McGuire (Winchester, Mass.) has been named the ACC Player of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday.

UVa’s top three-point shooter, McGuire led the Cavaliers with a career-high 22 points, including a career-best six treys, in the team’s only action on the week, a 100-60 win over Cleveland State on Saturday night. McGuire nailed six of the school record 13 three-point buckets. She also dished out a season-high five assists. After 10 games, McGuire stands fourth in team scoring with 9.3 ppg while leading UVa with 24 treys. She stands fourth on Virginia’s career list for three-pointers.

The ACC weekly honor is the first for McGuire.

Virginia (8-2) hosts No. 6/6 Connecticut (6-0) on Monday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena. EspnU will televise the game live nationally.
