CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia baseball team scored a season-high 15 runs Monday afternoon in a 15-2 win over George Washington at Davenport Field. The win completed a three-game sweep for Virginia, improving to 5-1 on the season. The Colonials fell to 0-3.

“It is always good to win at home, and to get a three-game sweep to open your home schedule is nice,” head coach Brian O’Connor said. “We have a busy schedule right now. A lot of our guys aspire to play professionally, and this is pro baseball, playing every day. It is a good opportunity for our team to get a lot of reps early in the season and hopefully get into a groove.”
