KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Virginia guards J.R. Reynolds (Roanoke, Va./Oak Hill Academy) and Sean Singletary (Philadelphia, Pa./The William Penn Charter School) are first-team members of the 2007 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 5 Team.

Members of the NABC selected the association’s 15 all-district teams.

Joining Reynolds and Singletary as first-team selections on the NABC’s All-District 5 Team are Tyler Hansbrough (North Carolina), Josh McRoberts (Duke) and Brandan Wright (North Carolina). Selected to the second team were Arizona Reid (High Point), Kyle Hines (UNC Greensboro), Dontaye Draper (College of Charleston), James Mays (Clemson) and Stephen Curry (Davidson).

Reynolds, a senior, is averaging 18.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists a game this season. He currently ranks third on Virginia’s career three-point field goals made list with 209 and 12th on the Cavaliers’ career scoring list with 1,594 points. Reynolds has scored at least 20 points in a game 11 times this season and has earned Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors once. He is one of 10 finalists for the 2007 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award.

Singletary, a junior, is averaging 18.6 points, 4.7 assists and 4.4 rebounds a game this season. He has twice been named the ACC Player of the Week, has scored at least 20 points in a game 11 times this season and is shooting 89.0 percent (154-173) from the free throw line. Singletary ranks ninth on Virginia’s career assists list with 360 and has scored 1,319 career points. He is a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award and is one of 30 players named to the Wooden Award Midseason All-America Team.

Reynolds and Singletary are Virginia’s co-captains this season.

The 150 players named to the 15 all-district teams are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America teams that will be announced at the conclusion of the 2006-07 regular season.
