Virginia triple jumper Katie Tershel qualified for the NCAA Regional meet with a personal-best leap of 12.32m (40′ 5″) en route to a second-place finish at the Penn Relays today in Philadelphia, Pa. Tershel becomes the second triple jumper to qualify from Virginia as All-American Tomika Ferguson has also met the standard.

School record holder Yemi Ayeni also took home runner-up honors at the meet; he threw a 58.70m in the discus and took second place. Action at the Penn Relays concludes tomorrow (April 28).
