Charlottesville–Two weeks after traveling to New England to face a pair of Northeast regional teams, the Virginia field hockey team will welcome a pair of teams from the Northeast to Charlottesville for a set of games. The No. 11/15 Cavaliers host ACC-rival and No. 16/10 Boston College on Saturday before taking on No. 17/19 Boston University on Sunday. The Terriers will also face Longwood on Saturday in a neutral-site game at University Hall Turf Field at 3 p.m., following the UVA-BC game.

Virginia and Boston College last played in the ACC quarterfinals in 2006 in Chapel Hill, N.C.; the Cavaliers upset the Eagles 2-1 after losing to them 1-0 in Newton Centre during the regular season. The two teams have split the eight previous meetings 4-4. Virginia and Boston University also played last season up in Boston; the Cavaliers were upset by the Terriers 2-1 to keep Virginia winless in the series at 0-2. In Charlottesville, Virginia is 1-1 against Boston College and 0-1 against the Terriers.

Virginia is led offensively by Inge Kaars Sijpesteijn, who has three goals and three assists, and Traci Ragukas, who has five goals thus far. Lucy Meyers, who was named the National Player of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com, has scored three goals and added an assist in the last two games. The Virginia defense has surrendered only three goals in the last four games, and in the second halves of those four contests, the Cavaliers have allowed a total of 14 shots combined.

Fans attending the games on Saturday should note that the Virginia football team is also playing at home the same day with a start time of 12 noon. Parking in the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena parking lots as available.
