Online Ticket Reservation System Now Live for Homecomings Concert

CHARLOTTESVILLE Virginia football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball season ticket holders, along with individuals who purchased tickets to the Virginia-Connecticut football game on Oct. 13, are eligible to receive up to six free tickets to the Homecomings 2007 event on Oct. 12 at John Paul Jones Arena.
This special event will feature the funk and dance-pop band “Morris Day & The Time” and coincides with the beginning of basketball practice. It also is on the eve of the Homecomings football game with Connecticut at Scott Stadium. The UVa football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball teams will be introduced at the event.
“Morris Day and the Time” are known for such favorites as “Jungle Love,” “The Bird,” “The Walk,” “Cool,” and “7779311.”
The online reservation system for this event is now live. Click Here or visit the Online Ticket Office on virginiasports.com. Phone reservations will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-UVA1
If you are an eligible account holder and the Virginia athletics ticket office has your e-mail address on file, you should have received an e-mail that contains a direct link to the on-line claim process. If you do not have an e-mail account registered with the Virginia athletics ticket office, you should be in receipt of a postcard instructing you how to reserve your tickets on-line or by phone.
Full-time UVa students can also attend the concert at no charge. Students can register for tickets to the Homecomings event through the on-line SHOTS system at www.uvashots.com.
The doors to the John Paul Jones Arena will open at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 and the Cavalier Team Shop in the arena’s main lobby will feature a special 25 percent discount on all merchandise.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. with an appearance by the Virginia football team. The women’s and men’s basketball teams will be introduced before the “Morris Day & The Time” concert begins at approximately 8:20 p.m. The concert is scheduled to conclude around 9:35 p.m.
Tickets remain for Virginia’s home football games against Pittsburgh (Sept. 29), Connecticut (Oct. 13) and Wake Forest (Nov. 3), and Virginia basketball season tickets are on sale. Tickets may be purchased online at www.virginiasports.com or by calling the UVa athletics ticket office (1-800-542-8821/434-924-8821). Fans can also order tickets in person at the athletics ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
