Virginia’s Sara Confer, a third-year from Swoyersville, Pa., helped the Cavaliers return to the NCAA Championships in 2006 as UVa posted a 14-8 record against one of the toughest schedules in the nation. In 2007 the Cavaliers are a fixture in the top-20 again while again facing another top-10 slate. Confer, a midfield defender, scored three goals and added two assists for her first points in her collegiate career in 2006. Against California teams Stanford and Pacific in 2006, she notched the game-winning assist against Stanford and added an insurance goal as the Cavaliers defeated Pacific. Virginia faces another squad from California this week when the Cavaliers host the Cal Bears on Thursday, October 4 at 6 p.m. at University Hall Turf Field. She sat down with VirginiaSports.com to share some information about herself with fans.
