CHARLOTTESVILLE– The fourth ranked Virginia men’s soccer team looks for its first conference victory of the season on Saturday night as it hosts North Carolina. Game time at Klckner Stadium in set for 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast live online by ACC Select.

The men’s soccer team is looking to break the Klckner Stadium attendance record of 7,906 on Saturday night. There will be beanie caps for the first 500 fans through the gates and at halftime there will be a performance by Flippenout.

The Cavaliers (6-1-2, 0-0-2 ACC) are coming off a 1-1 tie last week against Virginia Tech. Yannick Reyering (Mettingen, Germany) scored his ACC leading seventh goal of the season.

In their last game, the Tar Heels (3-2-4, 1-1-0 ACC) doubled their season scoring total in a 7-1 victory over Liberty. Seven different players scored, including Bill Dworsky, who leads the team with four goals this year.

North Carolina has won the last two meetings in the series, including a 2-1 decision last year in Chapel Hill. The Cavaliers have won the last 14 meetings between the teams at home, with the last Tar Heel victory in Charlottesville coming in 1977.

Virginia will take to the road the following week, as it visits Clemson on Friday, October 12. Game time is 7 p.m.
