CHARLOTTESVILLE — The eighth ranked Virginia men’s soccer team begins a five-game homestand Tuesday when it hosts Florida Atlantic in a non-conference matchup. Game time at Klckner Stadium is set for 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers (7-2-2, 1-1-2 ACC) are looking to rebound after suffering a 2-1 loss at Clemson on Friday night. Ross LaBauex (Chicago, Ill.) scored for Virginia, which had its seven-game unbeaten streak snapped. The Cavaliers are looking to remain undefeated at home this season, as they enter the contest at 6-0-1 at Klckner Stadium in 2007.

The Owls (5-6-1, 2-0-0 Atlantic Soccer Conference) are coming off a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Longwood on Saturday. Igor Santos and Shire Standnes scored second half goals to keep Florida Atlantic undefeated in conference play.

Tuesday’s game is the first-ever meeting between the schools. Florida Atlantic is the final of four first-time opponents on Virginia’s 2007 schedule. The Cavaliers defeated the three other first-time opponents earlier this year (5-0 vs. Columbia, 2-0 vs. Tulsa, 2-1 vs. Campbell).

The homestand will continue on Friday as Virginia hosts No. 9 Boston College (8-2-1, 4-0-0 ACC). Game time at Klckner Stadium is 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live online by ACC Select.
