The Virginia field hockey team will close out its regular season with a home game against the Blue Devils on Saturday, October 27. The No. 15 Cavaliers (9-8, 0-4 ACC) will face No. 9 Duke (11-6, 1-3 ACC) for the 38th time in school history with the Hoos holding a 22-15 record in the series between the two schools.

The Cavaliers are led offensively by Inge Kaars Sijpesteijn (7g, 4a, 18p) and Traci Ragukas (8g, 1a, 17p). Kaars Sijpesteijn, Abby Taylor, and rookie Kaitlyn Hiltz each have four assists to lead Virginia in that category. At the other end of the field, Lucy Meyers and Shelley Edmonds have helped the Cavaliers record a sub-2.00 goals-against average (1.88) as Amy Desjadon and Devon Burnley have combined for two shutouts. Katherine Bounds (three) and Lauren Elstein (two) lead the Cavaliers in defensive saves.

Duke’s Caitlin Williams has a GAA of 1.76 and has posted four shutouts on the season. Offensively, Marian Dickinson leads the Blue Devils with 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points; Laura Suchoski (6g, 6a) and Amie Survilla (9g) both have 18 points.

Both teams will move on to the ACC Championships the following week, which will be held at Boston College.
