Charlottesville, VA — Upon conclusion of the 2007 regular season the Virginia football team will be invited to a bowl game for the 17th time in its history. To assist Cavalier fans in their preparation to follow the team into postseason play, the Virginia athletics department has created ACC Championship Game and Bowl Game Central sections online at These sections will be updated as new information becomes available. Both sections may be accessed from the home page of underneath the Fan Zone heading, through graphic button links in the upper left-hand corner, and through graphic button links on the football page.

The Bowl Central section on has been established to provide updates as information regarding UVa’s bowl invitation becomes available in early December. Bowl invitations will be formally extended on Dec. 2, following the announcement of the field for the 2007 Bowl Championship Series (BCS). Tickets to Virginia’s bowl game will be available for purchase online at beginning Sunday night, Dec. 2, following the announcement. The Virginia athletics ticket office will accept bowl game ticket orders by phone and in-person at Bryant Hall beginning Monday, Dec. 3, at 9:00 a.m. The Virginia athletics department encourages fans to order bowl tickets online.

The ACC Championship section on features information regarding the 2007 Dr. Pepper ACC Football Championship Game should Virginia, the current leader of the ACC’s Coastal Division, earn a berth in that contest. The ACC championship game is played at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. The Virginia athletics ticket office is currently accepting requests for ACC championship game tickets from Virginia Athletics Foundation donors and 2007 Virginia football season ticket holders. The priority deadline for ACC championship game ticket requests is Wednesday, Nov. 21. General public ticket requests will be taken beginning Monday, Nov. 26. Ticket requests will be processed once it’s determined Virginia is playing in the ACC championship game. Once again, requesting tickets online at is encouraged.

Information regarding the ordering and distribution of tickets to a bowl game and possible ACC championship game are available within each section. The details are provided for donors, season ticket holders, students and the general public.
