CHAPEL HILL, N.C. The Virginia women’s tennis team concluded its fall schedule this weekend with pay at the Kitty Harrison Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina. Highlighting the tournament for Virginia was the doubles team of Amanda Rales (Bethesda, Md.) and Maggie Yahner (Las Vegas, Nev.), which went 4-0 to take home the title.

Rales and Yahner won all four of their matches against No. 1 level competition. On Saturday, the duo defeated Austin Smith and Sophie Grabinski of North Carolina. They followed that performance with an 8-6 victory on Sunday over Miami’s Romy Farah and Caren Seenuth, who last week reached the seimifinals of the ITA National Indoor Championship.

Virginia had a difficult time in singles play at the event, posting a 6-14 record on the weekend. In singles, Rales, Yahner, and Lara Alexander (London, England) led Virginia, each going 2-2 in the tournament.
