New York, NY Virginia senior defensive end Chris Long was 10th in the 2007 voting for the Heisman Trophy. The award is presented by the Downtown Athletic Club of New York and considered the most prestigious college football individual award. Florida quarterback Tim Tebow topped this year’s voting that was announced Saturday in New York.

Long received one first-place vote, two second-place votes and was named as the number-three candidate by 10 voters for a total of 17 points.

Long becomes the fifth UVa player to place in the top-10 of the Heisman voting. All-star halfback Bill Dudley was fifth in 1941, quarterback Shawn Moore was fourth in 1990, wide receiver Herman Moore was sixth in 1990 and running back Thomas Jones was eighth in 1999.
