Virginia head women’s lacrosse coach Julie Myers has been named the FieldTurf Tarkett National Coach of the Year, as announced by the company. Myers, whose Cavaliers practice on FieldTurf, led Virginia to a second consecutive ACC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Championship game in 2007. The IWLCA South Region Coach of the Year, Myers guided Virginia to a 19-4 record that included an eight-game winning streak that led to the title game appearance.

Myers enters the 2008 season with a career record of 186-56 in 12 years. Virginia has won three of the last four ACC tournament titles and has appeared in the NCAA Championship game eight times under Myers, including four of the last five years.
