Virginia All-American Emily Harrison ran a 4:46.26 in the mile at the Penn State National Open, qualifying provisionally for the NCAA Championships with her time. She finished third in the meet and now ranks sixth all-time in school history. Sara Casscells also moved into the top-10 in the 800-meter run with her 2:11.11, which places her eighth in the all-time rankings. Ayla Smith tied her career best with an 8.63 over the 60-meter hurdles, which she ran in the semifinals of the event. She also took eighth in the 400m with her 56.73.

Two women’s relays finished as runners-up as the DMR (11:36.48) and 4x800m (9:01.77) teams just missed the gold. The 4x400m team finished sixth with their 3:51.32. The men also had a pair of relay teams that placed in the top-six as the 4x800m quartet was third (7:42.61) and the 4x400m team was sixth (3:17.03).

Billie-Jo Grant took fourth in the shot put, tossing 49’ 11.75”.
