CHARLOTTESVILLE Friday’s top-five men’s tennis showdown between No. 1 Virginia and No. 5 Texas will be played indoors with action at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club slated for a 6 p.m. start. With Friday’s weather forecast calling for a high temperature of 48 degrees, conditions were not warm enough to play the match outdoors.

The Cavaliers (13-0) have been ranked No. 1 in the ITA Rankings each week this season. Texas is 10-1 this season after a 6-1 victory over No. 19 Michigan Tuesday night in Austin. The Longhorns’ only loss came to Georgia in the quarterfinals of National Team Indoors.

Virginia has an all-time record of 20-1 on the Boyd Tinsley Courts at Boar’s Head Sports Club. The Cavaliers’ only loss in the three-year history of the facility was a 4-3 loss to Texas in 2006 in the Longhorns’ last visit to Charlottesville.
