GREENSBORO, N.C. Virginia’s Jenny Hauser was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, March 30. Hauser contributed eight goals en route to leading the Cavaliers to a 2-0 mark, including wins over James Madison and fifth-ranked Duke.

Hauser scored three goals and added one assist in an 11-9 win over James Madison last Wednesday, March 26. The junior transfer tied the game-high with four points in the victory. Against league opponent Duke, Hauser had four goals in the opening half alone to lead Virginia to an 8-2 halftime lead over the Blue Devils. She finished with a game-high five goals and game-high five points en route to snapping Duke’s 19-game win streak at home.

The weekly selection is the first for Hauser, and the second for the Cavaliers this season. Junior Blair Weymouth was honored on March 17 after leading the Cavaliers to wins over William & Mary and No. 7 North Carolina.

Hauser currently holds the team lead with 20 goals on the season and has added seven assists for 27 points.

No. 4 Virginia returns to action tonight, Wednesday, April 2, playing host to Old Dominion at 7 p.m. in Klckner Stadium.
