CHARLOTTESVILLE Virginia senior point guard Sharne Zoll has been invited to the WNBA pre-draft camp, being held at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Fla., April 4-5. The WNBA draft will be held on April 9.

Zoll is one of approximately 40 top prospects that WNBA coaches and general managers will evaluate during the two-day session.

The Marlboro, N.J., native wrapped up her illustrious Cavalier career by becoming the Atlantic Coast Conference’s all-time assists leader and leading the 2007-08 squad to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Zoll broke the 16-year-old record held by former UVa great Dawn Staley (729 career assists) and finished her tenure with 785 helpers.

A four-year starter, Zoll will leave Virginia as one of the most decorated guards in Cavalier history. In addition to owning the career assists record, she ranks in the all-time top 10 in career steals (234; No. 5) and was a three-time all-conference selection.

The Cavaliers wrapped up a resurgent year in which they returned to the national polls for the first time since 2003 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. UVa finished with a 24-10 overall record and tied for third place in the ACC regular-season standings at 10-4.
