Advance Ticket Sales for Saturday's Lax Matchup Top 4,700 Mark

CHARLOTTESVILLEThe University of Virginia athletics ticket office reports that as of Friday afternoon 4,738 tickets have been sold for Saturday’s men’s lacrosse game against Duke at Klckner Stadium. The game is scheduled to face off at 6 p.m. and a capacity crowd of 8,000 is expected.
The game pits two of the nation’s top teams in a battle for Atlantic Coast Conference supremacy. The second-ranked Blue Devils enter the contest with an 11-1 record, including 2-0 in the ACC.
Virginia is ranked third this week and is coming off a dramatic 12-11 come-from-behind overtime win over North Carolina last Saturday. The Cavaliers are 10-1 this season and 1-1 in the conference.
Duke won last year’s ACC title with a 12-9 win over UVa in the finals of the ACC Tournament. Virginia has not beaten the Blue Devils in the last three meetings.
Capacity for Klckner Stadium has been capped at 8,000 to maintain a positive fan experience at the venue.
Fans planning to attend the game are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time online at VirginiaSports.com. Will Call tickets can be picked up at the Klockner Stadium main entrance beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Lacrosse sticks and balls will not be allowed in the facility.
