Cavalier Golfers Remain in 10th Place at NC River Landing Intercollegiate

Wallace, NC – The Virginia men’s golf team stayed in 10th place after the second round of play at NC State’s River Landing Intercollegiate. The Cavaliers shot 11-over 299 in the second round after opening with a 298. UVa’s two-day total of 597 is three shots behind ninth-place North Carolina. NC State and Duke share the tournament lead heading into Sunday’s final round at 574.
Virginia’s Kyle Stough moved up to 10th place after 36 holes at 145, including a 73 Saturday. Three Cavaliers, Conrad Von Borsig, Will Collins and Greg Carlin are tied for 42nd at 150. Von Borsig, playing as a non-scoring individual, had the best second-round score of the trio, posted a 73. Steven Rojas is 56th at 153 and Amory Davis dropped back to 80th at 160.
Wake Forest’s Webb Simpson owns a one-stroke lead or medalist honors at 139. NC State’s Kent Copeland and Duke’s Michael Schachner are tied for second at 140.
