CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. The Virginia swimming and diving had 12 of its members named to the 2007-08 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, it was announced Thursday by the conference office.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his or her academic career.

Seven men were named to the list, including Kenton Harris, Nathan Parker, Pat Reams, John Snawerdt, Bryan Stahl, PJ Sullivan and Ian Vogt. Snawerdt, a first-year, was among three All-Americans named to the list. Reams (200 butterfly) and Sullivan (200 breast) were crown ACC individual champions in February.

Five Cavalier women were also named to the list in Mei Christensen, Ellie Freeman, Claire Galdun, Stephanie Glover and Liz Shaw. Shaw was tabbed the conference’s Rookie of the Year after an impressive performance as a first-year.
