The Power of Orange Flag Raising

On Aug. 30, Tiki and Ronde Barber raised The Power of Orange flag for the first time before kickoff.

Members of Virginia’s 1989 ACC championship team raised the flag on Sept. 6: Mark Dixon, Herman Moore, Shawn Moore, Ray Savage, and Chris Slade.

Chris Long and Somdev Devvarman energized the crowd by raising the flag before the Maryland game.

Former Cavalier great and current Pittsburgh Steeler Heath Miller raised the flag prior to the East Carolina game.

The Power of Orange flag was raised by former Washington Redskins cornerback and recent NFL Hall of Fame inductee Darrell Green before the North Carolina game.

Washington Nationals third baseman and former Cavalier baseball great Ryan Zimmerman raised The Power of Orange flag prior to the Miami game.

Virginia football legend “Bullet” Bill Dudley raised The Power of Orange flag before the Clemson game.

The Power of Orange Around the Globe

Congratulations to our Power of Orange Around the Globe contest winner, Dexter Love. Dexter is currently deployed in Afghanistan and showed us The Power of Orange in front of a Blackhawk helicopter. Dexter will receive a 42” LCD TV as the winner of the contest.

Thanks to Dexter and all of you who took part in this contest. Keep sending us your photos displaying your UVa pride and we will keep posting them.

Essay Contest

Congratulations to the winner of our essay contest, Danny Rubin. Dan and a friend watched the ‘Hoos defeat Georgia Tech 24-17 in Atlanta.
