CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Junior Ashley McCulloch was named to the 2008 All-American Team on Tuesday. The Cavalier attacker anchored Virginia’s offense this season, putting up a team-best 58 points, dishing out a team-high 34 assists with 24 goals.

McCulloch earned All-ACC honors this season and was named to the 2008 ACC All-Tournament team after scoring the game-winning goal in Virginia’s 10-9 overtime victory over top-seeded Maryland for the Cavaliers’ third-straight conference championship. McCulloch ranks second in the ACC with 1.89 assists per game this season and earned All-South Region honors last week.

In Virginia’s record books, McCulloch finished seventh with 34 assists this year and is currently fifth in the program’s career records with 72 helpers. Individual Awards
