Kevin Ogletree to Host Cavalier Sports Weekly

Junior wide receiver, Kevin Ogletree, will host Cavalier Sports Weekly on Sunday, Aug. 24. The program is the season premier of 32 episodes that will air throughout the 2008-2009 academic year. Sunday’s program includes an inside look at football training camp, a preview of the Cavaliers’ season opener against Southern California, and features on running back Mikell Simpson and the team’s four captains, Cedric Peerman, John Phillips, Clint Sintim and Vic Hall. The show also includes a preview of men’s and women’s soccer, and a look back at former football great, Herman Moore.

Gray TV Stations to Broadcast Cavalier Countdown to Kickoff

CBS19, ABC16, and WAHU FOX27, the Official Flagship Stations of Virginia Athletics, have announced the upcoming airing of Cavalier Countdown to Kickoff. Marc Davis, J.W. Stehle, and Matt Parsons break down the 2008 Cavaliers. The 30-minute preseason special features exclusive interviews with the coaching staff, players, and Dave Koehn, the new Voice of the Cavaliers. Air times are:

Comcast SportsNet to Feature Cavaliers

Comcast SportsNet, the Official Regional Sports Network of the University of Virginia Cavaliers, announced the start of its coverage of Virginia football within SportsNite with “SportsNite on Campus: Kickoff Week.”

Comcast SportsNet will highlight local college programs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region during “SportsNite on Campus: Kickoff Week.” Throughout the weeklong college football preview, beginning Sunday, Aug. 24, the network will preview the Cavaliers 2008 season with features about Virginia’s linebacker trio of Clint Sintim, Antonio Appleby and Jon Copper, along with an extensive team preview, coach and player interviews and the most up-to-date team news and injury reports.

All Kickoff Week elements will be featured during SportsNite at 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. and Washington Post Live at 5 p.m.

The network also features University of Virginia’s weekly original athletics program, Cavalier Sports Weekly, each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. and re-airing the following Saturday at 10:30 a.m. During SportsNite, viewers can also catch Virginia Head Coach Al Groh’s weekly in-depth report, exclusive to Comcast SportsNet.
