Charlottesville, VA The Virginia women’s golf team is ranked No. 14 in the Golf World/NGCA Coaches Preseason Poll. The Cavalier return seven veterans from last year’s team that finished 12th at the NCAA Championships and were runners-up at the ACC Championships.

Virginia is one of three ACC teams ranked in the top-25. Duke is ranked No. 3 and Wake Forest is 12th. Reigning NCAA champion Southern California tops the poll.

The Cavaliers open the season next Sunday at The Fall Preview, the features many of the top-20 teams in the nation that participated in the 2008 NCAA Championships.
