Vittese Tabbed National Rookie of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. Michelle Vittese, a first-year on the Virginia field hockey team, was tabbed the national rookie of the week Monday by womensfieldhockey.com.

Vittese, a native of Woodbury, N.J., opened her college career with a goal and an assist in Virginia’s two victories this past weekend. The Cavaliers, who knocked off William & Mary and Providence, outscored their opponents 9-1 on the weekend.

Virginia, ranked eighth in the latest womensfieldhockey.com poll, will play host to Vermont at 3 p.m. Friday.
