CHARLOTTESVILLE Virginia senior Dominic Inglot (London, England) was named the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week conference officials announced Tuesday. Inglot led Virginia to wins over No. 31 Kentucky and No. 74 Maryland last week to pick up his second award of the season.

On Friday, the Cavaliers (8-0) downed No. 31 Kentucky 6-1. In that match, Inglot defeated fourth-ranked Bruno Agostinelli 3-6, 6-4, 10-8. It was his fifth consecutive win over a top-25 player. On Sunday, in Virginia’s 7-0 win over Maryland in its ACC opener, Inglot topped David Kwon 6-3, 6-2. Inglot was also 2-0 in doubles play on the week with Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.), including an 8-4 win over No. 37 Andy Orban and Boris Fetbroyt of Maryland. On the season, Inglot is 7-0 at No. 1 singles and 8-0 in doubles with Shabaz.

Inglot was also named ACC Player of the Week on Jan. 27.

This weekend the Cavaliers travel to Chicago where they will look to defend their ITA National Team Indoor crown. Play begins at the Mid-Town Tennis Club on Friday.
