CHARLOTTESVILLE – The top ranked Virginia men’s tennis team closes out the indoor portion of its schedule Friday night as it hosts in-state rival Virginia Tech. Match time at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club is slated for 6 p.m.

The Cavalier men (14-0) are coming off a pair of wins last week at the Boyd Tinsley Courts, a 5-2 win over No. 27 Boise State and a 7-0 victory over Boston College. Virginia No. 1 in this week’s ITA team ranking and has five singles players and two doubles teams ranked in the latest ITA Rankings. In singles, Dominic Inglot (London, England) is No. 6, Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) is No. 12, Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India) is No. 17, Lee Singer (Laguna Niguel, Calif,) is No. 73 and Houston Barrick (Brentwood, Tenn.) is No. 81. The doubles team of Barrick and Singh are No. 2, while Inglot and Shabaz are No. 10.

The Hokies enter the match with a No. 31 national ranking and a 6-1 overall record (1-0 in the ACC). Last week Virginia Tech defeated Boston College and Brown, both by 7-0 scores. In the latest ITA singles rankings, Yoann Re is No. 86 and Nicolas Delgado is No. 92. The doubles team of Delgado and Luka Somen is ranked No. 44.
