BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Cavalier men’s tennis player Milo Johnson (Tulsa, Okla.) reached the semifinals of the ITA National Summer Championship, held at the University of Indiana. Johnson, unseeded in the event, won five matches before falling to the top-seed and eventual champion in the semifinals.

Johnson’s five victories included a third-round win over the No. 4 seed, Kallim Stewart of California. Stewart was ranked No. 99 at the end of last season’s rankings. In the semifinals, Johnson fell 6-4, 6-4 to Alex Clayton of Stanford, a 2009 All-American who was as high as No. 4 nationally last season.

Also competing at the event were Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.), Steven Eelkman Rooda (Amersfoort, Netherlands) and Lee Singer (Laguna Niguel, Calif.). Those three Cavaliers each made the round of 16.

In other action last weekend, Dominic Inglot (London, England), a 2009 All-American, won his first career doubles title on the ATP Futures Tour. He and former Western Michigan standout Tim Bradshaw won the doubles title at the $15,000 Futures event in Ottershaw, Great Britain.
