Kohles Falls in US Am Playoff

Tulsa, OK – Virginia sophomore golfer Ben Kohles (Cary, N.C.) was not able to move to the match play portion of this week’s U.S. Amateur Championship aftering failing to advance through a tiebreaker for one of the final spots in the field. Kohles completed the 36-hole match play portion of the tournament tied in 61st place with 26 other players at 8-over 148. Wednesday morning those players all returned to the Southern Hills Country Club for a tie-breaker event to determine the final four positions in the match play field. Kohles bogied his first hole and was eliminated.
