CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia senior midfielder Neil Barlow (Herndon, Va.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week and to the Soccer America Men’s Team of the Week, the organizations announced Tuesday (Sept. 22).

Barlow provided the game-winning assist that gave the Cavaliers an upset road win over No. 2 Wake Forest, 1-0, on Friday (Sept. 18) night. The win snapped a 35-game unbeaten home streak by the Demon Deacons and improved the Cavaliers’ record to 4-1, 1-1 in the ACC.

Prior to Friday’s win, Barlow scored UVa’s lone goal against Mount St. Mary’s on Tuesday (Sept. 15) night, giving the Cavaliers a 1-0 victory.

Virginia, ranked No. 13 in the latest Soccer America top 25, is back in action on Tuesday night, hosting George Washington at Klöckner Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
