CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team won two singles flight titles Sunday as play concluded at the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational. Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India) won the A-2 title and Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) won the A-4 title, as both players remained undefeated this season.

Singh won the A-2 title with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Tennessee freshman Rhyne Williams in the final. He had advanced to the final with a three-set win over Christopher Aumueller of Nebraska earlier in the day.

Shabaz won the A-4 title over Boris Conkic of Tennessee when Conkic had to retire with an injury in the second set. He had advanced to the final with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jon Peers of Middle Tennessee in the morning.

Drew Courtney advanced to the A-3 final with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Sebastian Jacques of Virginia Tech, but fell in the final to Henrique Cunha of Duke, 6-4, 6-3.

The Cavaliers will return to action next week as play begins at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
