CHARLOTTESVILLE – The 11th-ranked Virginia men’s soccer team wraps up a three-game homestand by playing VCU in a non-conference match Tuesday night. Kick-off from Klöckner Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m., and live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia (5-2, 1-2 ACC) is coming off a 1-1 week, having defeated George Washington, 2-1, in overtime to give head coach George Gelnovatch his 200th-career win. After beating the Colonials on Tuesday (Sept. 22), UVa dropped a 1-0 match to Clemson on Saturday (Sept. 27).

Senior midfielder Neil Barlow (Herndon, Va.) continues to lead the team with three goals and two assists, and scored the game-winning goal vs. GW to lift Virginia to victory. Barlow was last week’s ACC Player of the Week and was named to the Soccer America Men’s Team of the Week.

The Cavaliers are ranked No. 16 in the Soccer America top 25. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) top 25, in which UVa is currently ranked No. 11, will be released Tuesday afternoon.

VCU (3-2-1, 0-1 CAA) is coming off a 1-0 loss to George Mason on Sept. 26. The Rams are led by Romario Blandon with five goals and two assists. Head coach Tim O’Sullivan is in his 14th season.

Virginia leads the all-time series with VCU, 19-2-1. The Cavaliers dropped a 3-1 match on the road vs. the Rams last season.

Following Tuesday’s match, Virginia hits the road for a match-up at No. 5 North Carolina on Friday (Oct. 2). Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
