CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia field hockey player Paige Selenski tallied three goals and an assist in wins against Boston University and Atlantic Coast Conference foe Boston College en route to being named the ACC’s player of the week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Selenski, a sophomore forward, helped the Cavaliers remain unbeaten with 2-0 wins over both the Terriers and Eagles last weekend. The Shavertown, Pa., native scored both of Virginia’s goals Friday against BU. Sunday against BC, Selenski assisted on teammate Inga Stöckel’s goal on a penalty corner shot to give Virginia a 1-0 lead before adding her team-high 10th goal of the season in the second stanza.

The pair of wins ran Virginia’s winning streak to 10 as the Cavaliers (10-0, 1-0 ACC) are off to their best start since 1979, when they began the season 12-0. Meanwhile, Selenski is tied for the team-lead with four assists to go with her team-high 10 goals for 24 points, also a team-high. Additionally, her 3.80 shots per game rank fifth in the ACC.

The third-ranked Cavaliers will be back in action at 4 p.m. Wednesday on the road against Richmond before returning to ACC play on Friday with a 4 p.m. game at top-ranked Maryland.
