TAMPA, Fla. – The 28th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team travels to Tampa, Fla., this weekend for the 2009 Gary Koch Invitational, held Saturday through Sunday at the par-72, 7,389-yard Old Memorial Golf Club. The tournament is co-hosted by Auburn and Kentucky.

The event features 36 holes of play Saturday and the final round Sunday.

The Gary Koch field includes No. 21 Auburn, No. 7 Florida State, No. 8 Florida, No. 10 North Carolina, No. 11 North Florida, Augusta State, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, UAB, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, South Florida and Texas Tech.

Virginia’s lineup will include sophomore Ben Kohles, sophomore Bruce Woodall, senior Kyle Stough, junior Will Collins and junior Amory Davis.

Kohles and Davis led the Cavaliers to a second-place finish at the VCU Shootout earlier this week. They both shot 2-over 218 to tie for 10th place overall. Kohles currently leads the team with a 70.67 stroke average while Davis is second at 72.83.
