CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s soccer team, ranked No. 13 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), hosts Longwood Wednesday night at Klöckner Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers (6-3) are coming off of a hard-fought, double-overtime setback to No. 2 North Carolina, 1-0, on Friday (Oct. 2) night. Following Wednesday’s match vs. the Lancers, Virginia will not have another game until Tuesday, Oct. 13 vs. Liberty.

Neil Barlow (Herndon, Va.) and Tony Tchani (Norfolk, Va.) have each scored three goals for the Cavaliers. Barlow has added two assists, while Chris Agorsor (Severn, Md.), Greg Monaco (Virginia Beach, Va.), Will Bates (Chester, Va.) and Mike Volk (Bear, Del.) have also registered goals for the Cavs.

Brian Ownby (Glen Allen, Va.) has wrapped up his stint with the United States Under-20 Men’s National Team at the World Cup. Ownby competed in three games for the Cavaliers prior to his departure, and tallied five goals and four assists during the 2008 season.

Cavalier goalkeeper Diego Restrepo (West Palm Beach, Fla.) has started eight out of nine games and allowed five goals for a 0.54 goals-against average.

Longwood (2-6-2) is led by Harvey Headley with two goals and an assist and Brian Germain, Marcus Dixon and Patrick McDaniel with one goal apiece. The Cavaliers lead the all-time series with Longwood, 4-0-1. Last year, the teams battled to a 2-2 draw at Klöckner Stadium. Jimmy Simpson (Warrenton, Va.) had two goals in that match-up for UVa.

Tuesday’s (Oct. 13) match vs. Liberty will begin at 7 p.m.
