CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team returns home after a four-match road swing to host NC State and North Carolina this weekend. The Cavaliers will face the Wolfpack on Friday at 7 p.m., before taking on the Tar Heels Sunday at noon. Live statistics for both matches will be available on VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia (6-10, 1-4 ACC) is led by senior Lauren Dickson and sophomore Simone Asque. Dickson leads the team with 181 kills, while Asque has landed 180. Junior AJ Cushman anchors the defense with 212 digs and has landed 23 service aces. Junior Sydney Hill has blocked 36 attacks.

NC State (7-12, 0-4 ACC) is coming off a 0-2 week, in which it fell to Maryland and Boston College. Kelly Wood leads the Wolfpack in kills with 150, while Alex Smith paces the attack with 430 assists. Defensively, Lindsay Benac has dug 289 attacks and Lisa Kretchman has blocked 53. Virginia leads the all-time series with NC State, 32-20, winning 26 of the past 27 meetings.

North Carolina (7-8, 3-1 ACC) is coming off a 2-0 week, topping Maryland and Boston College. Suzanne Haydel leads the attack with 141 kills. Erica Behm has dished out 360 assists, while Kaylie Gibson leads the defense with 196 digs. UNC leads the all-time series between the two schools, 33-14, but Virginia has gone 4-2 versus the Tar Heels in the last three years.

Following this weekend, the Cavaliers will remain in Charlottesville for the second half of a four-match homestand. Virginia will face Clemson (Fri., Oct. 16) and Georgia Tech (Sat., Oct. 17) next weekend.
