Charlottesville, VA – Virginia junior men’s golfer Amory Davis (Chadds Ford, Pa.) has been tabbed by Golfweek as its Player of the Week. Last weekend in Greensboro, N.C., Davis won the UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate and helped the Cavaliers to a second-place finish.

Davis shot 11-under 205 to tie the UVa 54-hole scoring record and win medalist honors by one shot. He carded a 5-under 67 during Sunday’s final round. His total score was one shot better than the previous tournament scoring record.

Davis played in all five of UVa’s fall tournaments and finished the early portion of the schedule with a 71.80 stroke average.

The UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate marked the fifth time in Davis’ career he has posted a top-10 finish. His previous best showings were fourth-place efforts at the Rehoboth Spring Invitational and the Cavalier Classic last April.
