CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia swimmers Mei Christensen and Scot Robison have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference performers of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Christensen won two individual events and guided two relay teams to victory in the No. 11 Cavalier women’s team’s 175.5-124.5 win over No. 13 Tennessee. Christensen won both the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke in NCAA ‘B’ qualifying times of 53.92 and 1:56.52, respectively.

The Reston, Va., native, led off the 200-yard medley relay team that clocked an ACC-season best time of 1:38.77, and also led off for the 400-yard freestyle unit that finished in 3:19.69.

Robison also won two individual events and was part of two first-place relay teams in the No. 9 Virginia men’s team’s 163.5-134.5 win over the No. 11 Volunteers. Robison took the 50 freestyle in a time of 20.39, and posted the league’s best time of the season to date in the 100 freestyle, clocking a 44.25 and qualifying for a national ‘B’ cut.

The Charlotte, N.C., native also recorded a 50-yard split time of 19.48 in helping the 200-yard medley relay team to victory with a 1:30.28 showing. Additionally, Robison guided the 400-yard freestyle relay group to a ‘B’ cut qualifying time of 3:00.15 in an exhibition event. The honor is Robison’s second of the season after sharing the award on December 8.
