CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Thanks to an overwhelming response in excess of 800 people, Virginia Baseball’s 2010 Step Up to the Plate event, set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, is sold out of floor seating which includes a dinner buffet, autograph session with the team, live and silent auction participation, presentation by UVa head coach Brian O’Connor and remarks from special guest Dave Winfield. All of these activities will take place on the floor of the John Paul Jones Arena.

Because of the sellout, a new general admission ticket option is now available that will allow fans to experience a portion of this event from the stands. General admission tickets are available for $20 for adults and $10 for youth 12 and under. This option will allow fans to enter the arena at 7 p.m. and sit in the stands to listen to the presentations by O’Connor and Winfield.

A concession stand will be open for purchase of limited food and drinks since the general admission ticket in the stands does not allow access to the floor and the dinner buffet.

Advance tickets may be purchased by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 800-542-8821 until 3 p.m. Friday or at the main entrance to John Paul Jones Arena beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.
