CHARLOTTESVILLE – After defeating Virginia Tech on Sunday to clinch a third-place finish in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings, the Cavaliers were awarded the No. 3 seed at the 2010 ACC Tournament being held March 4-7 in Greensboro, N.C.

Virginia earned a first-round bye and will face either sixth-seeded NC State or 11th-seeded Clemson on Friday (March 5) at 8 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Virginia finished the regular season with a 21-8 overall record and 9-5 record in the conference. The Cavaliers defeated Virginia Tech, 55-46, behind 27 points from senior Monica Wright (Woodbridge, Va.).

Virginia has won three ACC Tournament titles (1990, 1992, 1993).
