CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia softball team has added a round-robin tournament to its schedule for the weekend of March 6-7. The Cavalier Classic will feature UVa, Delaware State and Columbia in a round-robin format to be played at The Park.

Because inclement weather has forced the cancellation and rescheduling of several games, including last weekend’s Cavalier Invitational, Virginia is taking the opportunity to play on its open weekend. Delaware State and Columbia were originally scheduled for a series in Dover, Del., but unplayable field conditions has resulted in the games moving to Charlottesville.

On Saturday, March 6, Columbia and Delaware State will open the tournament with an 11 a.m. contest, followed by Virginia and Delaware State at 1:30 p.m. The Cavaliers will face Columbia at 4 p.m.

On Sunday, March 7, Virginia will play Columbia at 12:30 p.m. and Delaware State at 3 p.m. The Hornets and Lions open the day with a 10 a.m. contest.

Admission to the Cavalier Classic and all games at The Park is free.
