ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Virginia sophomore guard Sylven Landesberg (Flushing, N.Y.) is a member of the 2010 U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District III Team.

Members of the USBWA selected the association’s nine all-district teams. The USBWA’s District III includes Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Landesberg is one of eight Atlantic Coast Conference players on the 10-member team. Joining Landesberg on the USBWA’s All-District III Team are Al-Farouq Aminu (Wake Forest), Trevor Booker (Clemson), Malcolm Delaney (Virginia Tech), Devan Downey (South Carolina), Artsiom Parakhouski (Radford), Jon Scheyer (Duke), Kyle Singler (Duke), Nolan Smith (Duke) and Greivis Vasquez (Maryland). Vasquez is the Player of the Year in the USBWA’s District III and Gary Williams of Maryland is the Coach of the Year.

Landesberg, who earned second-team All-ACC honors this season, averaged 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 32.1 minutes played a game in 27 games.
