RALEIGH, N.C. – The Virginia track and field team wrapped up competition at the opening day of the Raleigh Relays Friday evening at the Paul Derr Track.

The Cavaliers’ 4x1500m relay teams both finished runner-up. On the men’s side, Virginia’s team of junior Andrew Revelle, senior Alex Bowman, junior Andrew Mearns and freshman Brett Johnson combined for a time of 15:58.92, while the women’s team of redshirt freshman Rosemary Barber, junior Lyndsay Harper, senior Ariane Sloan and redshirt freshman Tasia Potasinski completed the relay in 18:47.02.

Junior Chidi Uche advanced to tomorrow’s finals of the 100m hurdles, finishing 12th in 14.22 and sophomore Kevin Anding finished seventh in the 400m, running a personal-best 47.87.

In the 5000m, senior Lauretta Dezubay finished 10th in 17:10.00, while sophomore Anna Corrigan was 12th with a personal-best time of 17:17.47. On the men’s side, senior Trey Miller clocked in with a time of 14:24.02 for 11th place.

In field events, freshman Pearl Bickersteth cleared 5’ 7” to finish third and is now tied for fourth on UVa’s freshman records, while sophomore Erin Wykoff had the fourth-best throw at the meet – a mark of 150’ 2”.

The Cavaliers will be back in action tomorrow to conclude competition. Events will begin at 9:30 a.m.
