RALEIGH, N.C. – The Virginia track and field team completed competition at the Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track on Saturday.

Senior Meghan Briggs finished runner-up in the javelin in her season debut with a throw of 160’ 10”, while junior Tara Karin was seventh with a mark of 141’ 3”. In the triple jump, freshman Dallas Rose finished third with a leap of 40’ 4”.

In the 4x800m relay, Virginia finished second with a time of 7:33.84 on the men’s side and the women’s team combined for a second-place time of 8:55.00.

Junior Andrew Revelle took third in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing with a time of 9:19.39, while senior Samantha Stafford finished sixth on the women’s side with a time of 10:54.59.

Senior Steve Finley was second in the 1500m, completing the race in 3:54.25 and was followed by junior Andrew Mearns, who finished fourth in 3:54.73.

Freshman Zach Vrhovac was seventh in the 800m. He clocked in at 1:52.32.

In the hammer throw, sophomore Erin Wykoff tied a career-best throw, tossing 150’ 5”, and freshman Robert Guider threw the program’s fifth-best mark – 165’ 1”.

Virginia will be back in action next weekend, heading to Williamsburg, Va., to compete in the Colonial Relays.
