CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Virginia athletics department announced it will add 679 General Admission seats at Davenport Field. The seats will be located down the first base line and will be available starting with the home series against Georgia Tech (April 9-11). The additional seats will be placed alongside the 300 general admission seats that were added prior to the series against Clemson and will be available for the remainder of the season. The stadium’s capacity will be 4,219 starting April 9.

Record-setting crowds have filled Davenport Field during the first two ACC home series this season. Against Boston College, Virginia set a three-game series attendance record of 9,642. Virginia set a single game attendance record of 3,540 during last Saturday’s first game against Clemson.

“We appreciate the support of our fans and the interest they have shown to create a great home field advantage for the baseball program,” Virginia Executive Associate Athletics Director Jon Oliver said. “Each time we have added seats and asked our fans to increase their support, they have responded positively. The team’s remaining home schedule is challenging. We look forward to setting new attendance records starting next weekend.”

No. 1 Virginia hosts No. 3 Georgia Tech in a three-game weekend series, April 9-11. Friday’s game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The games on Saturday and Sunday will start at 4 p.m. and noon, respectively. Each game of the series is expected to sellout and all fans are encouraged to order their tickets in advance to guarantee admission to the games.
