Three Cavaliers Compete at River Landing Intercollegiate

Wallace, NC – A trio of Virginia golfers competed as individuals in the ECU/UNCW River Landing Intercollegiate Friday and Saturday.

Freshmen Gregor Orlando and Mac McLaughlin tied for 37th overall at 6-over 222. Orlando posted rounds of 73, 76 and 73. McLaughlin shot 82, 68 and 72. Henry Smart was 46th at 224. He had rounds of 75, 73 and 76.

UNC Wilmington won the team title at 847, beating second-place North Carolina by two shots. East Carolina’s David Watkins took medalist honors at 9-under 207.

Virginia returns to team play Friday, April 9 when the Cavaliers participate in the two-day Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
