Charlottesville, VA – Former Virginia men’s golfer Steve Marino tees it up at The Masters for the first time in his professional career today (9:07 a.m.). Marino appears in this year’s field after finishing 15th in the 2009 FedEx Cup standings. Marino is paired with Tim Clark and Tom Watson during Thursday’s opening round.

Since turning professional in 2002, Marino has earned more than $6.2 million on the PGA Tour. He finished second at the 2009 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial and shared the lead at the 2009 British Open with Watson after 36 holes.

Marino enters The Masters having made the cut in six of eight tournaments this season with two top-10 finishes. Check out his PGATour bio here.

As a Cavalier, Marino posted 13 top-10 finishes. He was an All-ACC selection as a senior when he was named the team’s MVP.
