Greenville, NC – Junior Calle Nielson shot even par 144 to take medalist honors and lead UVa to victory in a tri-match featuring North Carolina and East Carolina. The three schools played at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville N.C., the site of a 2010 NCAA Regional Championship.

Virginia shot 6-over 582 to win by 16 shots. North Carolina was second at 598 and the Pirates finished third at 604. The Cavaliers posted rounds of 2-over 290 and 4-over 292.

Nielson shot 72 during both of her rounds to beat out teammate Brittany Altomare for first place by one shot. Nicole Agnello tied for sixth overall at 149 while Lauren Greenlief was ninth at 150 and Joy Kim was 12th at 152. Carly Truitt led several UVa individual competitors with a sixth-place finish at 149.
